At the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), we get it: finances can be a challenging part of a student’s life. Fortunately, the Student Awards and Financial Aid office (SAFA) offers a number of scholarships and bursaries to help UOIT students.

Awards of Recognition recognize full-time Canadian secondary school students’ academic accomplishments without application in the following way:
$12,000 ($3,000 x four years) 95 per cent or higher
$8,000 ($2,000 x four years) 90 to 94.9 per cent
$6,000 ($1,500 x four years) 85 to 89.9 per cent
$5,000 ($1,250 x four years) 80 to 84.9 per cent

UOIT also offers awards that full-time Canadian secondary school students can apply for. These awards are given to applicants who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and exceptional leadership and community involvement:

  • Chancellor’s Scholarship: one valued at $28,000 ($7,000 x four years)
  • President’s Scholarship: two valued at $24,000 ($6,000 x four years)
  • Founder’s Scholarship: two valued at $20,000 ($5,000 x four years)

UOIT is also offering the FIRST Robotics Canada (FRC) Scholarship, one merit-based scholarship valued at $12,000 ($3,000 x four years). The recipient of this award will be a student in his or her final year of high school who is entering into an Engineering program at UOIT and who has participated on an FRC team during high school.

The deadline for the above noted scholarships is February 28, 2014.

International secondary school students entering an undergraduate program at UOIT on a study permit and are currently studying outside of Canada are eligible for UOIT's Global Leadership Award (GLA), valued at more than $45,000. Applications for the GLA are due by March 31, 2014.

If you’re a UOIT applicant, don’t hesitate to submit your application – you can find the applications and full eligibility requirements at uoit.ca/entrancescholarships.
